An autodidact is a person who learns individually, by themselves and for themselves. They seek out topics they want to learn and try to master them, or move on when they lose interest. Autodidacts tend to be motivated and want to learn, and tend to have better learning skills than people who 'just do the work'.
'Living' your education rather than reading can sometimes be good, for example in this

Structured education, meaning standard public schools and universities, provide a curriculum of what a student must learn. Students choose and continue with a subject until they move on. Structured education provides credibility and proof of skill.

I think I will enjoy college here very much. My classes are great and I like my teachers. I don't feel homesick at all. I've been here for over a month, I was here for Jumpstart. I already like Gallaudet more than home, it is a lot less stressful here.
